Just curious if anyone has used metal clad wiring for their heating element? I have a partial roll of 12/2 pictured below and I was thinking of using it for my element. I was going it may help keep the cord semi protected for the heat generated from the burners below. I'm using both had and electric in my rig. Any thoughts?

Does it meet the amperage requirements of your element? 12/2 is rated up to 20 amp.
Only use it if it has the following -
(11) In wet locations where any of the following conditions
are met:
a. The metallic covering is impervious to moisture.
b. A moisture-impervious jacket is provided under
the metal covering.
c. The insulated conductors under the metallic covering
are listed for use in wet locations, and a corrosionresistant
jacket is provided over the metallic sheath.

If not, it's safer to get wiring that's made for wet locations with higher ambient temps.

Use rubber cable made for the job. Not BX cable. It's not very flexible either.

Thank u
Ya plus #12 for an element just get some #10 S/O chord it's made for the job and its beefy built to get the **** kicked out of it!

Even on the job I hate running M/C CABLE much rather pipe it! All about craftsmanship!!
