Folks,
We are brewing up a clone of Sierra Nevada's Stout tomorrow (we'll call it Year of the Dragon Stout, since it is now the Year of the Dragon here in China). Anyway, we will be using the BYO recipe for SNS for a 10 gallon batch. However, we only have 1oz of Magnum hops, when we will need 2oz. We can get our hands on Nugget, which have an AA of 11%. From my calculations, we will need a bit less than 1.25oz to match the IBUs as stated by the recipe.
Question is, will the introduction of nugget impact the beer in any significant way? My initial thought is no, since it is a bitter hop, but figured I would ask the experts!
Thanks!
