Hi all,
Piecing together a BCS system and at the point where I need to buy the components for my control panel. Planning on two control panels, one for the elements / pumps and one for the BCS, will allow me to keep the BCS powered for fermentation fridges but turn off the brew control panel.
Anyway, two questions.
1. I assume that I could probably piece together the parts that ebrewsupply puts into their DIY kits and save some money, but is there a significant cost savings? I'm not sweating ~$50 or so... Just trying to avoid getting ripped off while simplifying my order process. I'm looking at the 50amp 2 5500 watt element kit here: http://www.ebrewsupply.com/shop/ebrew-kits/bcs-2-element-2-pumps-50a-kit-365.html
2. Given the fact that there will be no PIDs or BCS in my brew control panel, is there any reason I should use a NEMA panel larger than 16x16x8? How large of a panel should I grab for the BCS? Planning on getting the BCS-462.
Thanks!
