The high bidder joined Ebay yesterday..... what a d-bag....

He joined ebay right after I opened the bidding, the other guy joined 2 weeks ago so why would they start bidding on a 4 day old auction within minutes of my bid? could be coincidence, but it just seems too coincidental since these guys post a new auction as soon as one finishes.. the guy with the 2 week old account never bid on a chiller before.

With 3 gallon batches an ice bath and 2 20oz frozen (and sanitized) soda bottles cool it in about 12-15 min.

Last time I'll say it (I know, I'm even annoying myself), but just build or buy a CFC. I guarantee in that hot a$$ Omaha summer heat when your ground water is 80 degrees, you'll be regretting an immersion chiller anyway, unless you have a pre-chiller too.

I'm speaking from experience, I had an immersion chiller for HALF of last summer and said screw it. It won't work when the ground water temp is that high.

If you insist on an immersion chiller, buy enough material to make 2, so you have a prechiller as well. :mug:

When I was in Home Depot the other day getting a thermostat, I walked through the plumbing aisle and saw that they were charging close to $50 for a 25 foot coil of copper.

I've been pricing in our local HD - as I remember it was $20 for 25 ft and $28 for 50 ft!!! My son who works at HD in plumbing says that they call that a HD IQ test - there are pricing quirks like that all over the store. I'm ready to buy 50 ft and make 2 - one for a pre-chiller and one for the pot. As for the price, maybe copper futures are way up and the price of tubing with it.
