G'day guys I've been brewing beer for few months now just the cans in plastic fermenter and would like to try to make cider. Anyone got a simple recipe that an idiot can do? And also what equipment do I need?

Look up turbo cider

Or get a can of Black Rock cider
Use 2/3 brewing sugar 1/3 light dme, add 250g lactose (unfermentable & sweetens a v dry cider) Chop up 3 granny smith apples and put in a big hop sack and and to fermenter. Wait a couple if weeks, prime & bottle thenwait for it to condition (5 weeks will give a great tasting cider) :)

Awesome! Can you use dextrose or definitely the brewing sugar? And is it to 23litres? And do you prime it with carbonation drops like beer?

I used dextrose, DME & Lactose.... I use carp drops (coopers) 1/500ml. It's 23L I think. It'll say on the can. dde0f.

Or you could buy 20L of apple juice and use that instead if the can, just buy more in case u need to top up. If you don't use the lactose you could add apple juice at the end to add sweetness and flavour, I prefere to use apples for that sweet taste (granny smith sweeten but give a tartness aswell). Enjoy

It doesn't get any easier than apfelwein:

Though with a wee bit more involvement (but still really easy) graff is my fav:

There are several variations on each recipe, and there are lots of cider recipes here:

As for equipment, it's the same as you're using to make beer.
Hope this info helps. Regards, GF.
