What are the advantages / disadvantages of dry yeast v.s. liquid? Does it really matter all that much....

Dry yeast is cheap, lasts (almost) forever, and in most cases doesn't require a starter. Liquid yeasts cost more, have a shorter shelf life, and generally require a starter. The advantage of liquid yeasts are there are a TON of different strains
