What and where is this Pearly's you speak of??? I've often thought about going to STA and asking them for some yeast, never done it ...I kinda think itd seem almost rude...maybe itd be an act of flattery. idk.
I really think "we" need a LHBS . The way Huntsville is booming , and the local breweries popping up, I think it could handle one. I know Id be there almost every time we go to H'ville, which is like almost every day .
...

You’d think that but the best example of a LHBS was Wish You Were Beer and they got out of the business of homebrew supplies. They didn’t last long and I’m not sure why. You could go in and pick your ingredients and have a beer from the wall of taps. Small but friendly and convenient.

Pearly’s is on Governors very near the Clinton/Governors ‘Y’. It’s next to a Metro PCS. It’s more of a health food store but they have a surprising selection. I try to buy from them to keep them in business. Store hrs are 10-5 M-F and 10-2 Sat. Closed Sun. They don’t have a lot but you can find a couple different 10# sacks of base malt, a fairly good selection of 1# bags of ‘character’ malts, dried yeast, and pellet hops. They don’t refrigerate hops or yeast. They also have some cleaning supplies and Whirlfloc, yeast nutrient, etc. Nothing elaborate but you can get the basics for a batch of Pale Ale, Pilsner, or Bitter, etc.

Just around the corner on Clinton you have four breweries: STA, Yellowhammer, Outerspace (or something), and Salty Nut. Keith at Yellowhammer and the Salty Nut guys have both offered me a pitch but I haven’t taken them up on it. Great guys.

I hung up a thermometer in the under the house part of the basement. Temp was 71, only 3 degrees cooler than where i ferment now. Not worth moving in there. Ill try the kveik

You need a fridge.

So, its around the corner from what I call brewers row?? Straight to Ale is like one of our hangouts. I'm looking for Pearly's asap, like late July . I feel a sudden deficit in my malts inventory...Just yesterday I was thinking about doing a SMaSH sometime,or make my football beer again. I could use some whirlfloc and a new bottle of star san too.

This could be the "like a kid in a candy store" type of situation, could be expensive and or dangerous. I probably should not be allowed to go unsupervised.

Do they happen to have a brewers club discount or membership card ? My old LHBS up north had a program. Plus they gave you a 32 oz growler when you signed up and if you brought back their burlap sacks they package the AG beer kits in , it was a $1 off, like a coupon. cool place.
Need to keep shops like this going. Like, in need of an expansion if we could get more people to find it.

Yep. Around the corner. They give Mil discount. Not sure about others. It’s a small inventory but they’ll have Star San and whirlflock

ROLL TIDE. thats all you need to know ,right? I got a buddy that lives in middle lower TN , near some airbase. what town are you in?

Sorry....weekend time is store operation! I am actually now in Mission, TX.....your buddy must be near Tullahoma (T'homa) and AEDC...about the only "airbase" in Middle TN I can think of. I grew up in Lewisburg....other side of F'eville :)
That kviek doesn't take the whole package.....we found out that 6 months old works fine with the whole pack.
