I brewed an IPA over the weekend and it seems to be fermenting away nicely. My hop additions were:
1oz Nugget @ 60m.
1oz Centennial @ 10m.
1oz Simcoe @ 5m.
1oz Amarillo @ 0m.
I would like to dry hop this batch and I want it to pack a nice punch! Any recommendations for dry hop combinations and how much? It's a 5 gallon batch. Thanks.
BTW my Grain Bill was:
12lbs Two Row
1lbs Crystal 10
.75lbs Munich
.25lbs Weyermann Carahell

If you really want a hop aroma punch, go with 3 ounces. That's my standard for an IPA. An ounce each of centennial, simcoe and amarillo is a winning combination! Especially considering your IPA already features those hops. I just chuck the pellets into the primary after 3 weeks or so, give them 5 days, cold crash for 2 days, keg and enjoy! I do put a sanitized nylon hop sack over the end of my racking cane, although after a good cold crash all of the pellets have settled quite well anyway.

I only bottle my beer and will look into kegging at some stage in the future. Are these amounts based on kegging only or can I still expect a good hop aroma from this combo/amount, even if I bottle?

2-4 oz. is pretty standard for dry hopping.

As tooldudetool mentioned, the trio of Centennial, Simcoe and Amarillo will be tasty but be prepared for a serious citrus punch!

If citrus is what you're after, Challenger might be something in that vein but a bit different.

However, if you're after a more grassy aroma maybe try something like Topaz, Hallertauer Tradition or Palisade. Topaz would work best if you're brewing at a higher than normal ABV.

Hope that helps!

My OG was 1.067 and my estimated FG is 1.012. I am fascinated by the things I've read about Amarillo having a tangerine aroma. This sounds like it might be something I'd like.
