I just replaced the beer line tubing in a draft tower, but I could not get the damn nut to come loose. I ended up lucking out and slipped the new tubing on after goofing with it for about 30 minutes.

What the hell size nut is that, and how do you loosen it? The space is so tight, I couldn't get a vice grips in there or anything. The biggest box wrench I have is 7/8 and that was still too small. WTF?

Shank nuts are a pain to get at. I found that I was able to get it hand tight and then use a hammer to hit a drift on the corners of the flats of the nut. I was able to get them all very tight on my three tap tower this way.

There is a Shank Wrench that is available, this one happens to be from Micromatic. I bought one but still can't really get it on the two shanks that are the lowest on my tower.
