I just left my local hbs and picked up ingredients to make an "easy street wheat" clone.. It's an extract/grain recipe and it called for a yeast starter. Not sure what that is but I assume it kick starts the yeast after being pitched. Anyways I figured IDE by another vile of white labs German ale and pitch 2 in replacement of the starter. Good Idea or not? And could somebody please clarify exactly a yeast starter is.. Thanx and hoppy brew day!

You'll get way more yeast much cheaper making a starter. All it is is a little extract and some water mixed with the yeast a day ahead. You can use some of the extract from your kit.
