I was bored and tried something unusual. Since I really like the taste of molasses, I mixed wome with warm water, to 1.05 SG. Then added nottingham ale yeast. It was fermenting very slowly if at all, so I threw in some bread yeast since that is all I had on hand. In a few more days it finished up at 1.005, about 5% abv.
It is an interesting brew, strongly tastes of molasses, but with a little fizz. I am not sure what if I would do it again, but I am enjoying a glass now.
