since hilma passed last year, we've been considering a friend for hati, but weren't quite ready for another puppy that soon.

Funnily enough, people we knew that had owned hilma's cousin and live in the same town as us called us that due to circumstances, they had to find a new home for their 3 year old keeshond boy.
So this weekend we are testing if hati can have a roommate again , so far so good.

We got that log toy with squeaky squirrels in it from costco. He’s got little squirrels all over the place.

Seven years ago today, we brought this little one home. She is a rescue out of Texas. She was dropped in a high kill shelter with the description "unwanted". How could anyone abandon such a sweet and gentle soul.

Yes, german shorthair pointer, vizsla, , and a dalmation. the last two are my daughters (dogsitting for her). We did previously have a vizsla and IF we have another dog, we'll have another. Great breed.

Beautiful. I love them too. My in-laws had one, and she was sure a worker in the uplands and grouse woods. In fact she ran my poor city-labs ragged, always had to spend several days recovering when they got back to Chicago from the northwoods, lol.

Most of my life I had black lab mix doggies and even though they were pretty mellow a toy like that would have had a very short life span - like a handful of minutes - before it was totally un-stuffed

There are toys they won't tear up. We went through tons of them, the dogs tearing out the squeaker heart in hours. Then my wife found the ones that last.

The squirrels are really good, except when they are small they get under couches, then fido cries, then you get to be the hero.

we've found toys by an estonian company that uses suede leather, it's great for durability, they are filled with bamboo fiber, so harmless even after they break:
