Does this style ball lock fitting need flare washers?

I have a pair of these ball lock fittings.



Do these fittings, with their plastic ends, need the white nylon flare washers like this or does the plastic end serve as a sort of washer?

I have some of those QD's and I don't use any washers. No leaks.

Trying to switch all my QD's to the threaded types. So much easier to work with and to clean the hoses

No they don't need a washer. The plastic end is a built in washer. You need flare washers when the connection would otherwise be metal-on-metal.
