Does this look normal??

Hello fellow beer makers,

I'm just starting out brewing beer this is my second batch. I bought the brew canada red beer kit and after 5 days I looked in the pale and this is what I saw. On my first beer I made the top was the same color but on this one it's different any ideas why half is a dark color and the other half is white??

I'd say the dark part is floating trub & the white krausen.

Not sure what that looks like, but I just finished eating and almost lost it at the sight of that. Reminds me of the accident the dog left on the floor last week

Looks normal to me. Every beer has a different look to it, but that looks fine. Does it smell normal?

Mine's never looked like that but then yours may never look like mine.

yup smells like beer...nothing rotten out it other than the sight
