Just finished brewing a cream utopia ale in which I also added an additional 1lb of light dme, and this is what it looks like immediately after adding to carboy. I have seen this coagulated looking stuff in prior brews, but never this much. Is this normal?

Why would it be any different than 99.995% of these threads? It is nearly impossible to f this brewing up, so why should it be anything other than new brewer hypochondria? ;)

I look at what, 12 of these a day, 7 days a week, for how many years, and could maybe count on 1 finger, in all those pictures any incident where it actually was something to be concerned about.

looks like my last batch did.. its normal, it reminds me of clouds until the angry yeast monsters turn those calm sky's into tornadoes and hurricanes...

wow I went a little strong there, oh well

Thank you all for your patient considerate reassurances. You know some less considerate @$$holes might come on here and give someone a hard time. But I guess you guys realize that this is the beginners forum and show extra patience. Thank you again!

I'm on my first batch, and I am glad it is in a bucket so I can't see it.
I lookedat your thread cause I wanted to see all the different things I should look for,
and could not get the picture and then I read what Revvy said and it made me chuckle a little.

I'm one week in the bucket so far. I press the lid every so often to get a sniff from the airlock.
