Does pitching yeast 3 days later affect anything?

So I have a high gravity beer that I didn't realize requires 2 to 3 times the yeast. Fermentation has kicked off without a hitch within the first 10 hours. And it is rolling hard-core. I'm in too small of a carboy and my 5 gallon batch is spewing Krausen out the blow off tube. So naturally I am losing yeast when I'm already probably too low.

I already ordered another tube of white labs California ale WLP 001 And will be here Tuesday. Would tossing this in a couple days into fermentation be a bad idea? Or should I just go ahead and do it? I don't wanna wait a month for fermentation to complete if the yeast amount was too low.
 
Let it ride. It might finish out and be just fine.

If it's stuck two weeks from now, make a low gravity beer with the new vial of 001, let it ferment, then rack off the yeast cake and put the stuck high-gravity beer on the yeast cake - it's a sure-fire, never fail way to unstick and stuck beer. (If it's stuck, you can let it sit for weeks or months to get unstuck, and there will be no ill effects.)

To pitch another dose after high krausen will most likely be a waste of yeast. How high is high on your gravity??

I don't care about wasting the $7 on the yeast I bought. Id rather not wait longer or do any extra work. So will pitching extra have any ill affects?

1.061 isn't that high. What would be the point of pitching more now? The yeast is already thriving and multiplying, let it do it's thing.

Above 070 you have reason for concern. You're fine @ 061. Relax and let it finish. ;)
 
Agreed. Lets do the hypothetical math- you pitched 100B cells which multiplied to let's conservatively say 1 trillion. Then you pitch another measily 100B into that active environment? That's why we say a repitch into an active environment is a waste. If you've bought new yeast, save it for a new batch, or do as JonM says in 2 weeks if she's looking stucked.
