Does the beer need to be stored in a dark place during fermenting or just after bottling?

Beer should always be stored in a dark place. If it isn't you're only risking the lovely skunkiness caused by the reaction of light and hoppy goodness...

Keep it dark at all times. If you need to you can just cover the fermenter with a towel or anything to keep the light off.

I cover my Carboy with and old grateful dead tour tye dye, keeps it dark and the music never stops.....
