Hey,

After I bottled my last rye ipa, i bottled the last three bottles with a lot of trub just to see what happened. I've seen through them and it seems like they're going crazy in there.

I wondered then if the carbonation process adds more alcohol to the beer after bottling.

Yes, I take good care with hydro readings...so...thanks for answering!!

If dextrose adds 46 points per pound per gallon and it's 100% fermentable, then 4 to 5 oz in 5 gallons should add about a third of a percent.

I usually use 4 oz so:

0.046/4/5*131=0.3013

Yes - The priming process is essentially that of regular fermentation
Sugars --> Ethanol + CO2 (which under pressure results in carbonation)..

Depending on how much priming sugar you use it's somewhere between 0.2% and 0.35% ABV..
