Do I need to burp washed yeast jars?

Or keep them loosely covered for a time? I searched the "Yeast Washing Illustrated" thread and couldn't find any discussion of this question.

My jars of harvested yeast cake give off some gas and need to be burped occasionally, but it seemed like washed yeast might be another story.
 
I've been leaving mine loosely covered in the fridge until the temperature drops, then closing the lid tightly. Once the temp has dropped, there shouldn't be any activity.
