I just got parts in for the first tap on my kegerator.

My question is do i need some sort of washer between the end of the shank and the faucet and also at the end of shank and the hex barb on the beer line?

And are these parts I could find at lowes or home depot?

The answer is yes to both. However, they are different washers. The faucet comes with a washer installed normally that seals it to the shank. If you look in the faucet you should see it there. Typically only if damaged these are replaced. The other connection also needs a washer typically called a beer washer. This the same washer used to connect to a sanky style tap. These should be readily available at home brew stores, kegworks, etc. You might also find one at a hardware store.
