I'm planning on building a pvc tower. However, I'm a bit confused as to what I need to purchase for the hardware. I'll need a faucet and a shank right ? What kind of shank should I get for a 3" round tower ? Just wondering how I'm gonna tighten all this on a round surface

It is called an elbow or gooseneck shank, it is made specifically for towers:
Make sure you can still get in and tighten it, and you can get the washer and nut on, that can be a trick if you don't have small hands.. or a mouse with sneakers...
