I know I know.... I should have more than 1 stir bar... But I don't... And to make things worse I started looking for it while I was making my starter... So I successfully avoided any boil overs while looking for the bar, but my question is, Im going away for the weekend, brewing Monday... Without being around to shake it, or swirl it or anything, is it going to be enough for my starter just to sit there? Or does anyone have a good homebrew style-ee fake stir bar idea?

if you're gonna give it 2 or 3 days it should still make a pretty decent starter even if it doesn't get agitated. shake the hell out of it to oxygenate and only cover it with foil (both of which i assume you're already doing).

unfortunately i don't know of a quick macgyver substitute for a stir bar
