Hey all. I am getting ready to order parts to solder in couplers to my SS pot and add a dip tube and ball valve. Can I put the regular coupler soldered in the wall, add a dip tube on the inside with a 1/2" x 1/2" MPT compression fitting for the dip tube on the inside, and still be able to attach the ball valve on the outside with a 1/2" x 1/2" male npt hex nipple? Just wondering if that is how it's done. Thanks everyone.

Here is what it should look like on the inside.

On the outside will be the nipple and female ball valve.

I am going to make mine with a side pickup tube for whirlpooling. Can i mount the coupler when I solder it flush with the inside of the kettle wall and screw the compression fitting into it then?

yes if you don't get any solder into the threads. Be careful, but solder is pretty plastic when you screw something into it.
