Will this ding on my enameled pot affect my beer ?

That definitely will rust. I'd use this as an opportunity to get a nice stainless steel pot to replace it. :)
 
Gently steel wool off the rust (unless you like the taste.LOL)and use it until you get a replacement. It will rust over quickly unless you apply oil to the clean metal. The enamel repair paints and kits are for cook-top surfaces and tubs and the like. I wouldn't trust them on a cooking pot.

The worst that can happen is a little more of the enamel (glass) may flake off, but will settle out quickly. The spot will eventually rust through so do replace it when convenient.

Yep, clean rust every time until you can get a new pot. I did this after 4-5 brews when I first started. It was a good chance to get a new pot and start doing full boils which led to AG which led to no more money :eek:
