My cider has been in the primary for 2 weeks. I have 2 gallons going. When I went to rack the first jug, the siphon hose kept filling with carbonation and killed the flow to the secondary. Although the fermentation appeared to slow drastically, it seems to be going just fine. I did complete the racking of the first gallon, but decided to wait another week on the 2nd gallon. Not too worried about the cider, but want to confirm my gut reaction to just leave it be.

I would have left it for about a month before racking but that's just me. I don't understand how the hose managed to do that, maybe you weren't submerging it fully into the liquid? I would transfer the second gallon asap, you are risking oxidation due to the large headspace on both gallons.

i also would leave it, but it sounds to me like a leak in the hose, fermenting cider should not give off enough gas to break a siphon.

The 2 gallons are/were seperated into 2 1 gallon glass containers. I will double check the hose, but I have only had this hose for about a month. Things can happen, so I can check. Although, when I cleaned the hose with water, it kept a siphon in water just fine.
