So this is my 7th batch all grain. I made so many mistakes; my hand touched the beer (unsanitized) etc. The batch was brewed the 16th June 2014, 1.052 and today is at 1.008. Is the stuff floating just hops/yeasties ?

It has a very alcoholic smell and is very bitter. Should I wait another couple of days for secondary, or should i transfer it now?

Doesn't look bad to me. As for the smell and bitter taste, I'm assuming by "bitter" you don't mean from hops. What is the ambient temperature of the area you are fermenting in?
 
Did you dry hop it? What is the beer? Recipe?

That just looks like yeast and hop junk floating away - wouldn't think that it's an infection, based on sight alone.
 
I wouldn't transfer it at all. I'd let it clean up after itself. Sometimes(but not always) a fast ferment can produce off-flavors, so an extended primary is advised. A little extra time should mellow everything out. Plus, the more yeasties the better if you weren't that sanitary with your process.

The floaties don't look odd, and seems to be normal. Give it time and see what happens.
 
Oh, I totally missed that portion about transfering. Definitely leave it alone. It's been in primary for 3 days! Leave it there for a couple weeks to let the yeast do it's job properly. I tend to leave mine alone for 3 weeks
 
Thank you all for the quick response!! The outside temp is at a constant 16C (61F), but i think it is a little colder. Here is the recipe (Got a 60% eff so it wasnt that good.)

Original Gravity: 1.076 (had 1.052)
Final Gravity: 1.019 (day three 1.008)
ABV (standard): 7.44%
IBU (tinseth): 42.9 SRM
(morey): 10.46

Bitter from hops because it is an IPA or another kind of bitter?
Looks like yeast rafts/hop gunk. I would not worry about it at all. Also, if my IPA is bitter then I did good. :)

What yeast did you use? 61F is pretty cool.
 
I used safale s04.. I know its cool, but the inside temp is hotter than the outside?
 
Yeast rafts, homey. You know the mantra, relax....

Stop messing with your beer, though. Just leave it until you are ready to package. English Ale Yeast do well in the lower 60's, so I think you are fine.
 
I knew it! When I saw the picture I thought, "man, I bet that is s-04, that is what all my s-04 batches look like."

awesome then so i dont have to worry!! Do you have a strong alcoholic scent in the beer? Or is it only because the beer is stil young?
 
It's not finished beer until it's conditioned and chilled. Both of these processes changes the flavor of beer. You're drinking young beer. Certainly instructive to your pallete, but don't expect it to taste like final beer yet!!!
