Disregard. I forgot to put the center bell piece in the airlock so now that it's in its bubbling away and closer look at the carboy reveals all kinds of activity its just super hazy so it was hard to tell. So looks like it's still churning away. My bad.

I can't say, because I put all my beers in my fermentation chamber and usually don't even look inside for a few days.

What I can say is that I really like that yeast. I have made a few really good beers with it.

I have activity usually within 8 hours fermenting at 65 degrees. Krausen drops in 2 days usually then I raise a couple degrees to clean up.

Using this now on Yooper's oatmeal stout, but I have a question about it. I over built a starter because i'm always too lazy to harvest the cake so I have more Denny's to use, the recommended styles are pretty wide open IIRC from the website. Will this work well on a Nut Brown Ale or a Pecan Porter? Starting to ramp up my fall beers and I'd rather not have to buy more yeast if i can just use the overbuilt i have and save myself a few bucks.

I overbuild all my starters then just decant off some into a mason jar then make a new starter out of that and repeat. I think it'd work great on a nut brown and porter.

Great news. Thanks for the quick feedback. Yeah I started over building my starters recently too. I just never seem to get time to harvest my yeast cakes and I figured I'm making a starter anyways, an extra buck (maybe?) in DME vs. 8 bucks for yeast I was gunna make a starter with anyways. No brainer.

I also find that ithe yeast is so much cleaner too. I started doing this after I washed a batch of 001 and it got infected and ruined two beers, so now I don't have to worry about contaminated yeast or atleast it makes me feel better anyway.
