Brewed a week ago and had some issues with the starter so it was tossed. Life got in the way and i'ts now been a week and it's never been innoculated.

Wort has been sitting in sanitized fermentor with airlock at 68

is it toast?

Can i just pitch yeast now?
Should i bring it to a boil? (Or run it through the RIMS for a bit at 180+)

:drunk::confused:

Thanks!!

Pitch! Your only worry is wild yeast or an infection has taken hold. But if you don't see any airlock activity then chances are you are still good. (standard disclaimer - lack of airlock activity is not proof positive of lack of fermentation)

Also what have you to lose but a few bucks for the yeast.

And if you do have something wild starting, this may be the best sour you have ever had.

Don't bother with the RIMS, if you want to be 100% sure just boil it for a few minutes. I really doubt anything has been able to infect the wort yet though, I think you should just pitch asap.

Pitch! I have been in your shoes! I made great beer with a delayed pitch.

I delay pitching all the time and my fermentation freezer is anything but pristine. You should be fine pitching now.
