I had posted before that I had thought I had a infection and that I was having problems with my Conical.
I ended up racking to a glass carboy and the beer cleared wonderfully but I ended up seeing an almost oil or gas like hue on the top of the carboy yesterday.
It looked as though oil or gas was poured in water.
I thought nothing of it but today there is some deposits collecting on the sides of the carboy looks like fat on the top of a pot of soup.
I'm going to be throwing this away tomorrow but its so clear it makes me want to cry.
I could read a newspaper right through the carboy its the clearest beer I have ever had I used insinglass. Thats where I believe I may have got the infection.
I'm thinking that it was a dirty spoon. I sprayed with Idopher but did not wash it first. I also did not leave the sanitizer 2 minuets to work I pretty much sprayed it then put it in the beer and added the Insinglass and stirred.
I am brewing a blond ale right now in the conical and from what I have seen so far it does not look infected.
