Defective Johnson Controll!

I purchased a Johnson A419 brand new from a local homebrew store and I had my Belgian sitting in there (new chest freezer as well) with it set at 74 with 1 degree of differentiation. One day the display showed nothing and it alarmed me but it came back and another day it dropped from 62 to 52 but this morning after I left it at 72 (no heating element just had it set for 74 with high hopes) I came home after work to the display reading 5!!! and the inside of the freezer was ice cold! What should I do?

That's weird. Not much of help, but did you set the jumpers per the instructions?
