We're gonna do our 2nd AG batch this weekend and this is the recipe we invented.I would appreciate any comments, suggestions or observations.

7.5#Two-row

2#CaramelWheatMalt
1#MunichMalt
1#CrystalMalt60
1#Molasses

.5oz Chinook 60
1oz Fuggles 15
1oz Tettnang 1

Gonna boil 7gals for 90 to hopefully get 5.5gals
Single infusion

Thanks people:mug:

We brewed our DeerBrown AG yesterday but i screwed up my grain bill by using some wrong amounts caused by too many different bags of grain on the table so here's what i brewed:

7.5# 2-row
1# caramel wheat
2# Munich
1# Crystal 60
1# molasses(30 min boil)

.5 chinook 90min
1 fuggles 15min
1 tettnang 1min

Nottingham Dry Yeast

Ended up with a 1.052 OG @ 76degrees
Single infusion,mashed-out,batch sparged.

I hope it turns out:) .
Cheers:mug:

That much molasses will result in a molasses-flavored beer. I made one about three years ago that used three cups. It took about 8 months before you could taste anything but molasses. At a year, it was pretty good.

This darn beer!We were gonna bottle it today but my gravity reading was 1.025 after 18 days.It started out at 1.050.I decided to wait a few more days and take another reading.Should i repitch? Are the molasses screwing with it or what? Thanks.
Cheers:mug:

Well Richbrewer,David 42 was right about the molasses.Tried the DeerBrownAle after 3 wks in the bottle and it tastes way much like molasses(not very good:( ).I think we'll just box this one up and put it the garage for a few months and try it again.I won't be using molasses anymore.
Cheers:mug:
