So, I brewed a Pliny clone today.
Was targeting 1.074. I hit 1.073 (corrected gravity), but due to trub loss, I only ended up with just over 4 Gallons!

I was hoping for a 5 gallon batch, since I had an 8 Gallon runoff, and 90 minute boil.

So.... should I just pitch it since I came close to my gravity? Or should I just add some water?

What say you HBT!?

Also, anticipating more trub loss in the ferm bucket, and in an aggressive 2 week dry hop schedule for this bad boy, I'm guessing I'll be less than 4 gallons. Kinda bummed.

I say pitch. Then when it is ready just sip it slow and it will seem like you got more out of the batch.

haha... that's a good idea.

I'd like to think that hitting the gravity is the most important thing here....regardless of my volume.

Sloooooowwwww sippppinn double I P A

I'd leave it be since your at the correct gravity. Better to have less of what you intended to make than more of something that misses the mark. Just my opinion of course:mug:
