You will have to drink whatever jeblikesbeer puts in front of you

they won't stop the bottle share if they can at all help it. they are having hundreds of bottles of the best beer in the world brought/opened for FREE, attracting tons of damn cash.
DLD would likely fizzle without the bottle share (i sure as **** wouldn't go, i can share beer and not drink dark lord at home!).

i didnt even care about the GA tickets will be at compound allllll day long.

exactly... and if you couldn't do that, you wouldn't even go. i would just schedule a bottle share in my backyard, charge 2 lbs of pig-meat to attend, throw up some tables and cornhole and call it good. i do NOT need to drive to ******* chicago for the likes of Dark Lord, i go for the bangs.

the rules have said no coolers since like 2-3 years ago.
In the last few years they said no hard-sided coolers and never put a stop to bringing in beer. I think the new wording can be cause for concern. Obviously no one would care if they didn't have the bottle share, I know I wouldn't, but that might be why they're not talking about putting a stop to the share last year.

I share your concerns regarding a bottleshare inside the gates based on how last year went after 230 - 3pm, but even if they make a change to their policy (and from what I've heard it has to do with having outside bottles being brought in to an event in IN that has a permit for outdoor liquor sales) I'll be drinking outside at the biglobo8971 or Lansman areas.

We shall see I guess.

Mostly true, but last year after a certain time in the afternoon you couldn't bring bottles in. Not sure what the incident was that led them to this, but I remember I had to make the hike back to my car to drop off a couple bottles.

actually a pretty ******* good business plan (pending legality), just host a giant ass bottle share. Like a big beer fest where all the beer is free because ******* neckbeards bring it, provide some water/shitters/food, and let the money roll in.

wonder if that's on-the-books legal anywhere.

You would have so much legal liability, including but not limited to dramshop, local ordinances, etc...

So I think it's ok to do in Indiana.

i think you would maybe save yourself liability by not "supplying" the beer? maybe not though since you can't control it. has to b ea way, there are some huge beerfests in IN already

i have VERY little knowledge of special-cases alcohol laws, and i imagine they would be liberally interpreted to **** someone anyway.

oh well, guess i'll keep doing it in my basement.

really i just want whatever glass they sell
You will be happier if you stop this.
Srs!

Part of why I didn't enjoy myself last year at DLD was cuz of the snifter line. I wanted to kill myself spending the first 3 hours in line. Yes, no one forced me, but a trade partner really wanted a glass and that's how I roll! The drunk guy in front of us pissed himself 2 hours in. Srsly the worst ever. Mainly due to everyone and their mother cutting in line.

Skipping this line and just camping at FFF taps to get BVDL this year. Will be much happier.

Like srsly don't wait in line for the snifters, you will hate yourself. Srs.

exactly.... except the tap lines have a reasonable probability of being very similar.
maybe not, but i'm skipping both in preference to hold hands with backfat outside.

I'm kind of amazed this is true. Thought it would be easy. I'd like to get one, but I'd also rather have BVDL.

You can have both.

You will just need to spend 3 hours of the start of your day in line for the snifters.

BVDL usually isn't tapped first. It's later in the day. I've never gotten a pour myself. I've always heard about it too late and given a pity sip. Hence why I just want to hang out around the FFF taps until it goes on. Also, for some reason I think they let people get as many pours as they want. I remember 2 years ago seeing a table with 5 pours and someone saying, yeah I got six pours but I dropped one of them cuz I couldn't carry them all. :(

I knew i wanted those glasses... so I legit SPRINTED to the line as soon as the gates opened even tho i nearly pissed myself in the process(drinking since 7 AM smart idea) got glass within 10 min and then took a most excellent piss in a still clean portapotty

I love you man, but i am not sprinting at DLD.

Unless it's to catch a backfat

So I'm bored at work and that means more questions. Some have suggested that the tap lines (or guest tap lines?) are not worth it.

Is this because the taps are that underwhelming or because the bottle shares are that much more awesome?

Apparently there is some secret code and people think BVDL is going on tap right when they get to the front, so they just stand at the front of the line, not ordering anything until it does, and the lines just stay still for periods of time.

i actually really liked the guest taps when i was last at dld in 2013. dat napa bcbs. i heard they were handled like **** last year though. the guest tap tents were super wide and you could order any beer from anywhere, so you would have bartenders going like 150 feet and back to get your pour.

I passed on trying to get glassware last year, and after securing a table in the main tented area I was able to get pours of Rum Barrel Aged Zhukov, King Sue, and a few other fantastic things before the lines got beyond the 5 minute wait point.

So taps are certainly not underwhelming, but the lines can be overwhelming.

well, depending on who your with/etc, the bottle shares can be much better (IMO, they don't have lambic on tap!), but the tap list is generally pretty killer. that being said, it's often a clusterfuck when something crazy goes on (BVDL, BA Huna, etc).

I don't like battling people/line etc for some ******* beer anymore (though i admit i've done it in the past!), i'd much rather just chill with some space and my friends outside and pour some good stuff. if i'm walking by and they have some decent stuff without a huge line i'll duck into it for a pint or something, but i'm definitely not camping there all day waiting for them to tap BVDL

hope that makes sense.

Both are awesome. Share all day long, then supplement that with the occasional tap.
