Could someone that has a Danby DAR044 post some interior measurements? I can't seem to find one of these locally to measure myself and I have checked threads but none really have interior measurements. I have seen many threads out there about using one of these as a kegerator. I want to use one as a fermentation chamber for a 6.5 gallon bucket or 5 gallon carboy. I would plan on leaving the bottom shelf in place and just placing the bucket/carboy on that bottom shelf. So, what I really want to know is measurement from the hump in the bottom to the top.

I'll tell you tonight if someone else hasn't by then, but as far as I know you have to cut the door shelving out completely to fit a carboy or bucket.

A 5gal corny keg will fit on one side of the newer model by just removing the shelf racks without any cutting. Unfortunately anything else requires chopping everything from the door off.

6 gallon BB carboy will fit once that's done, so a bucket may as well... will have to check when I get home.

So, you think I will have to cut the door even if I set the bucket/carboy on the first shelf? I guess I was thinking that the overall depth was deep enough that I would be well back from the edge of the first shelf and be avoiding the door altogether. Just don't know if there is enough room from first shelf to the top.

Possibly, depends on how tall it is... I'll check when I get home and give dimensions from the hump to the fridge ceiling.

Alright, here's the info. I have this exact model: Danby Designer DAR044A1BDD

Full inner height: 28.5 in. (inner height with the light on top: 26 in.)
Full Inner width: 16.75 in.
Hump to ceiling: 20 in. (not accounting for light)
Door to hump: 10.75 in.
Door to back: 15.75 in.

Picture with my 6 gallon BB carboy inside included. My bucket won't fit, and there's not enough headroom for a carboy when raised to the height of the hump. With all the door shelving still attached except for removable parts not much will fit beyond a single corny keg on the left side.

Thanks for checking. Looks like I will move on to plan B. I am trying to avoid something where I have to cut out door panels etc. Also trying to avoid a chest freezer because I already have back issues and I can see them getting worse with lifting in and out of that. Space is a premium so also has to be something as small as possible. So, my options are fairly limited given those constraints. Maybe I'll check on the Igloo mini fridge. It looks like maybe those can work with minimal modifications.

Thanks again.
