Today, 06/06/2019, is the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the invasion of Normandy. I hope you'll take a moment sometime today to hoist a pint & remember all those who were there.

Our local newspaper ran a nice story with pics of local vets and their stories. Those guys are pretty great.

My wife and I visited France a couple months back and got to spend a few days in Normandy. Of course we hit some of the the D-Day sites including Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, and the American Military Cemetery at Colleville, which overlooks Omaha Beach. While at the cemetery, we noticed several groups of school kids obviously on a school field trip carrying flowers and placing them on the marble grave markers. It was very moving. Come to find out, it is a requirement that every school-aged child in France visit one of the American cemeteries at least once before they finish their secondary education. As an American, it was really nice to know that even 75 years later, the French have not forgotten the sacrifices made by other countries on their behalf that day (and beyond) in 1944.
