Hi y’all!
Looking for a little help... after starting with 1.75 gallons of apple cider, 1.25 gallons of water and about 4.5 lbs of honey, with a yeast nutrient and one packet of champagne yeast my cyser bubbled powerfully for 5 days after putting it in the carboy, then stopped. The ambient air temperature is pretty high (80 degrees?) and inconsistent. I have a hydrometer but forgot to take an OG reading. Can I use the hydrometer now to see if the fermentation is complete? Any suggestions help!

Yes, you can take the SG now to see where you are with fermentation. Make sure to degas the sample by stirring it to get rid of any co2 in it, so you can get an accurate reading.

Definitely take an SG reading. With that sugar content, the temp and yeast variety I would guess it is probably finished.
