About to keg for the first time
and I read a lot of people cut the last 3/4" off the end of the dip tube to avoid sediment that may accumulate.
Necessary, common, or no need?

Every keg is going to have a different amount of sediment, so 1/2", 3/4", 3/8"....who knows? Just accept the fact that the first pour or two will have some sediment. The other thing is that once you get the sediment out it is gone. If you leave it down there and then move the keg it goes back into solution and you will have to wait for it to settle again. IMHO
