Howdy, got the itch to brew after a 20 year layoff except for the occasional batch of wine. Used to brew with a fellow Marine in base housing and 99% of the 60+ cases were terrific. I love Stouts, IPAs and and beers I can't generally afford like Rochefort 10, etc..

So now I am looking for some equipment and will start off with some Russian Imperial Stout since I can't touch it for a year. Gonna need a couple carboys so I can make something I can drinker sooner!

Welcome back to the addiction! Thanks for your service. 5 more and I hit my 30... not sure if I am looking forward to it or not.

Welcome aboard, Guns! Glad to see you made it back to the addiction after 20 years. Your service is of course greatly appreciated. I wasn't crusty as a Marine, but I'm starting to feel like it now :) Semper Fi

Welcome aboard RetiredGuns. My youngest is just embarking on the role of a lifetime. He graduates USMC Parris Is. 8/24/12.
Brewed him up a batch of Irish Red today! Hope to see you around here.

I can't imagine what it was like trying to brew beer without homebrewtalk! You're in good company, Gunny. Welcome back to brewing and welcome to the 1st Civ Div (if you're a new comer). Your brewing abilities will come back proportional to how long you grow your beard out. I was with 2MARDIV '02-'06. Semper Fi.

Glad to hear you're brewing again Guns. This is a great place to hang out and talk to fellow brewers and many veterans here as well.

A lot of knowledge on HBT and sure happy you joined! Thank you for your service MARINE, good luck and happiness on your retirement and your brew.. Also, Semper Fi, even if it is from a retired Navy guy.

BTW. My son joined the Marines about a year and a half ago. I think it is the best decision he ever made.

OoRAh!
