I received a 2 gallon Mr. Beer kit a while back and, after creating a few lower alcohol brews, I am wondering how I might go about creating a big, high alcohol beer that will be drinkable. I've been looking through Mr. Beer's different recipes and I've found a few that are high volume, like 8,9 or even 10 percent. I'm looking to create something in the 9-11 percent also, but of my own recipe. Does anybody out there, who is familiar with their products (mixes, boosters, etc...), have any ideas as to what I should start with and what I need to add to create a high strength, but fair, brew.

I look forward to learning with you all and thanks,

Josh

Probably the best bet is to look through the recipe database here on homebrewtalk.com and then adjust it down to a smaller batch. I think the best starting place is based around what you like to drink.
