I convinced SWMBO to let me go for this, with the caveat that I have to be willing to downgrade if necessary when we move in July. $20 (plus a $5 holy *** this is a good deal tip) for the following-
  • 33 bombers
  • 5 gallon carboy w/ bung & airlock
  • Bottling Bucket w/ spigot
  • Tubing
  • Bottle caps
  • Corn Sugar
  • Export Stout Kit (or an IPA if you add extra hops)

I'm thrilled with just the carboy and the bombers- the rest is pretty much stuff I already have- probably pass it on to a friend wanting to homebrew.

But the fun thing is that the kit is from 1999... so I'm guessing I shouldn't use it. Wondering if anyone needs a sample of what yeast was like in 1999, let me know.

Nice score. I saw that on craigslist last night and knew that someone was really going to enjoy that prize.

Enjoy it and try the yeast in a starter!

Not sure if this is a joke or not (it's late...)

Export Stout Kit (or an IPA if you add extra hops)

and if it's not a joke, then maybe I'm missing something, but how could you turn a stout kit in to an IPA just by adding extra hops....

I was wondering the same thing as well- so I checked again. I apparently just read "Irish Export" and I thought "Oh, a Foreign Extra Stout" for some reason. It's actually an amber...
Whoops. Sorry!
