I am going to be at CBC next week and have a few questions for the Philly natives...

1. What is the most underrated brewery in Philly?
2. What is the best beer bar?
3. What is the best "under the radar" beer bar? (trying to avoid crowds if possible)
4. How and where does one buy good beer to go (bottles and cans) in Philly?

Not from there, but I been there quite a few times. I would:

1.Hit Tired Hands (I haven't been to the new spot). I wasn't really super impressed with any Philly proper breweries. Forest and Main is out by Tired Hands.
2.Monks is the most well known and gets the most limited stuff.
3.i like Prohibition Taproom, Eulogy, Kite and Key, Memphis Taproom and others. This can be useful: http://www.phillytapfinder.com
4.the Foodery usually has stuff, but lube up. I don't usually buy any beer to take home from Philly.

It is now. I wouldn't have just granted with 2 of the Piety since B2 was significantly easier to get, but I do have the other thing that I wanted to use with the Piety B1, so...

Granted! Need to fill it out over the weekend with some cool stuff, but should ship Tuesday at the latest (Monday most likely). @zazbnf send me yo info.

Amazing 40lb MAW grant from TobyG. My back may never be the same and I hear the FedEx guy filed for disability after delivering this one.

Also a MAW package just landed a bit ago to California.

Good eye, the Black Metal is a 2015 farmhouse yeast version, and yes that is a BA sexual chocolate. Definitely looking forward to that one, have been searching for a while.

Toby was also very generous in sending me both Batch 1 and Batch 2 Piety.

You did send me an OG Black Metal, but the one I sent Walt was the Farmhouse version from late last year (B17 IIRC). It's one of the better versions since they switched yeast, but OG >> B*

lol...yeah, I had two, so I didn't mind giving one up. I also wouldn't mind adding one back, especially if it's a year other than 2015.

The secret to my landing them was Stille Nacht Reserva.
 
Funk Metal =/= Farmhouse Black Metal. It was a beer back when they still had OG Black Metal around.
