I never had any pre-palm rodenbach but i had a current. I liked cuve de jacobins a lot better because its more sour.
I don't know how much the brewing process changed, but I believe that's when pasteurization started. I think the blending changed also and that combined with pasteurization made the beer much sweeter. Also marked the departure of Peter Bouckaert and the end of Rodenbach allowing De Dolle (& I think several other small breweries) to use Rodenbach's yeast/lacto blend.
