I just acquired through a friend a corny keg. It was dirty but cleaned up well. Made its way to Atlanta from New Hampshire. The CO2 post has a twelve point post. It appears to be very old, I'm guessing maybe 60's or 70's. Anyone have any knowledge on this. Very thick stainless. Very sturdy.

See attached picture.

Thanks,
A2H

Most likely a Cornelius Spartan or Super Champion keg as they sported 12 point 7/8" gas posts.
You can remove it with a 12 point 7/8" deep socket or box wrench.

Corny style kegs have been around for 60 years.
I have no doubt some of mine are nearly that old :)

Cheers!

It is, in fact, a Spartan. I wasn't sure if that was a name. Is there any way to determine the age? Thanks!
