I am trying to carbonate my Cory keg for the first time with the set and forget method without shaking. Quest I have is do I hook up the gas to the normal IN port or do I hook it up to the OUT port to let the gas flow through the beer?

many thanks in advance.

Both will work, but I find it best for my system to just leave it hooked up to the Gas In side.

Thanks for the info. The only other thing I was thinking was switching the gas port ontop of the tube so the gas is forced to the bottom of the keg and bubbles through the beer. Have you ever tried it that way?

Yup, I have, and found it really didn't accelerate the carbing noticeably. Also, my system doesn't have flow check valves on the gas manifold and one time I had the gas on the liquid out side beer got into the manifold... So due to the possibility that beer could get into my gas lines and the fact that it really didn't help anything out for me, I haven't done it since.

When I really want to carb the beer faster, what I do is set my reg to 30 psi (my serving pressure is 9psi) for 24-36 hours. I'll then disconnect the pressure, release the pressure, reset the reg to my serving pressure, and reconnect the gas line. This typically gets me to a fully-carbed state in about a week.

Hope that helps!
