There is a recipe in the purple wine book for a corn wine. I was wondering if

anyone ever tried it. Mine plan is to boost the sugar use ec-118 and

hopefully get something around 16%. Then i would like to get some oak

cubes for the secondary and hopefully get something similar to whiskey but

without the harsh throat burn. Any suggestion would help

I doubt you would get anything close to whiskey.

To make whiskey they start with distilled alchahol. That stuff is like 190 proof, the flavor really comes from the mixing they do and the aging in the oak barrells.

Actually, I bet you could buy some whiskey essence and mix it with it for pretty good results. My homebrew store has essences to make all types of alchahol.
