Hi all, I bottled a Master Vintner Chilean Malbec Wine Kit a few months ago. I haven’t made too much wine (mainly make beer) but I’m always curious if my corks look “normal”. Wine doesn’t taste great but I think that’s just my taste, it’s still very drinkable. I always seem to have some CO2 in my bottles so I probably need to degas better.. but that’s another topic.

First, I am not a winemaker. However, a Google search seems to identify that as an amalgamated cork, suitable only for decorative purposes. I wouldn't use it to bottle.

That would be quite a shame if that’s the case since I got it at my local homebrew store.

I order my corks through widget.com item# 6-wfir-4524-wc, #9 1.75 long. I found 35 cent corks are risky, these corks run 48-68 cents depending on qty. ordered.
