copper wire to hold hop bag to dry hop

I'm 99% sure I can use copper wire to hold my hop bag on the bottom or at least fully submerged, in my secondary to dry hop, right?

Man I am glad you asked.
You don't want copper in contact with fermenting/fermented beer. The CO2 will leach copper into the beer and could cause verdigris poisoning, same goes for brass.

Could you find some stainless washers and use those as weight?
