For those of you who use copper manifolds, do you solder them together or do you just piece them together for the mash and then take apart for cleaning?

Also, Is there any benefit to a copper manifold over SS braid hose. The only thing I've noticed is the braid hose tends to flop around in the mash even with the end weighted. The braid is getting a bit of wear as well from stirring the mash.

Thanks,
Al

Mine comes into 3 pieces for easy cleaning. Just think about it before you solder! You can screw this one up too....I soldered every OTHER joint....that way you can still get it bacl together.

I didn't solder mine neither, it sits together very tight at the bottom of my MLT there is no way it can move or come apart.
