I started a 5 gallon batch of coopers real ale the og was 1.046 its been fermenting at 68-70 for 7 days. I check today and the fg is 1.012 looks good in the pail should i bottle or wait? Or is there anything else i should do to it ? I used muntons brew enhancer and kit yeast.

If it's nice and clear, you could bottle it as long as the SG has not changed in at least three days. I'd wait a couple of days, check it again and if it's still at 1.012, and it's clear, it could be bottled. There is no disadvantage to waiting a few days, especially if the beer isn't completely finished and so will avoid any bottle bombs due to the fermentation not being done.

That sounds like an acceptable FG, but it might not be a bad idea to give it a few more days and check the gravity again to see if it's still chugging away. Certainly won't hurt anything.

Are you getting any bubble activity at all in your air lock?

It just so happens that I have a Coopers Real Ale fermenting right now too. I brewed mine on 2/16. I'm not even going to look at FG or mess with it for at least another week. We should stay in touch and compare notes to see how it turns out. I've done their Pale Ale before and for a "no boil" recipe, it turned out pretty good.

Cheers :mug:

There is no bubbles wasn't any yesterday ether. I would love to keep in touch to see you comments on the batch. I been told by a few friends to use coopers brand not others but i plan to try a lot of different kinds cause i like all kinds of beer and want a good selection of flavours. I not in a rush so i think i will wait a few days then.

As far as when to bottle, do exactly what Yooper says (and that's pretty good advice for most things).

The rule of thumb on the dextrose is 1oz per gallon of beer. Add that amount of dextrose to about 2.5 cups of water, boil it for a few minutes, let it cool a bit and add it to your sanitized bottling bucket when you're ready to begin the bottling process.

I bottled my real ale today. Fg was 1.012 was that sunday also. I got 49 bottles filled mostly 450ml some 500ml ,6 355 and 6 330ml for testing. I batch primed 250g of dextrose.

Had one from the last case tonight day 50 in the bottle and its the best beer i got out of 5 batches since. Waiting is key i think.

So I've had mine in the keg for a while and overall I'm happy with it. This beer is probably a little maltier that what I typically drink, but the batch turned out well. My other keg has a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone that is right on the friggen money.. so that's my fave right now.

But, back to the point... waiting almost always seems to help.

Cheers :mug:
