So I'm 21 and quite new to living on my own. When I lived at home I would just eat leftovers of what my parents had or always ate out at restaurants. I need some ideas from all of you chefs out there. I feel like I constantly eat the same things over and over again. It's either pizza or just a lot of like frozen meals and stuff like that. I hardly ever actually "cook". It's not that I can't cook, it's just I am stuck on what to make. Anyone have any ideas for some good healthy meals I can prepare for myself and some good beer styles to go with it? I eat everything so all suggestions are welcome, and I have a bunch of different beer in the fridge. Much appreciated. Thanks!

Look through this thread:

It's chock full of some AWESOME food & often the recipes are posted; if not, all you have to do is ask for one & I'm sure most, if not all would gladly share a recipe with you. Also, there are 40 pages of food threads, just scroll down & click on next in the cooking & pairing forum.
Regards, GF.

Pick up a copy of Cooks Illustrated. I have been borrowing my moms subscription for years, tons of great stuff in there, no ads, and mostly easy recipes. Usually a variety of main course, sides and dessert.

Hi,
I know how it feels to suddenly live on your own and have no idea about cooking. But believe me that thanks to this I became really good cook now :D For the beginning I suggest you prepare quick, easy and cheap Chinese dish. The orginal name is Chaofan (this is fried rice with vegetables). There are plenty good recipes in the Internet. Maybe for you will be better to use video in the beginning This is not my channel so please admins don't delete it! I think it will be just useful for this user :)

Try making boxed macaroni and cheese per the instructions. Then add hamburger meat fried with onions, garlic and bell pepper, along with a can of diced tomatoes.

Simple and filling, and lends itself to getting imaginative with the seasonings...

Homemade chili is easy from scratch or canned ingredients and you can make a boatload at once for weeklong meals or freezing for spot meals in the future.

I do the same thing with black beans as well - 4 liters (my crock pot's size) of homemade black beans, give em a light mash and refrigerate or freeze the extras, and I've got about 20 easy burritos when I want em; you can stir fry some chicken and peppers and toss those in, go with a scrambled egg and a slice of bacon for a breakfast burrito, or just load up with beans and cheese.
